this may be the most boring post you'll ever see me produce.

i have been staring at this empty post for a good 30 minutes now, racking my brain for some witty conversational topic that i could blog about. but sadly nothing is coming to me.

i have been debating for some time now on what would be the most important thing for me to spend my "extra curricular" money on.

Right now these are my items:
1. Ripping out bushes and getting new plants in the front of the house
2. Redoing our deck this spring
3. Going on a tropical vacation (to dominica again)
4. Going to Las Vegas for a week of craziness with my husband's family
5. getting LASIK surgery.

You see the trend here. We are looking at anywhere from $3,000 - $6,000 for these activities.

Obviously I can't do them all.

While the I'm-still-in-my-20's me really wants to go on a week's vacation (either tropical or Las Vegas), the I'm-getting-old-and-there-are-more-important-things-to-do-me aka my conscience, is telling me that it would be best to put my money towards something for the house...we've desparatley need our deck fixed, as the wood is practically rotted in one corner and looks hideous becasue the idiots before us painted it a light grey/blue color. don't ask me why. the bushes need to be ripped out in the front of our house.  they are attracting serious spiders in the summer...one's i've never seen before until this past summer actually. need a reminder?? lol.

a major part of me wants/needs to get LASIK surgery. i've been having such issues lately with my eyes, it's really irritating the shit out of me. my contacts are constantly dry, i rub my eyes and they could just flop out of my eye, they are making them red all the time, and my glasses bruise my nose badly too.  my eyesight is horrendous.  i was laying in bed the other day and literally at 5 inches away, i could barely see my iphone screen clearly.  I found out a long time ago, my job offered to cover 1 eye, and you would pay for the other for lasik surgery, but since then has been changed to cosmetic surgery category and so i would be responsible for it all.  i know the price has come down ALOT since when it was first out, but still... it's so expensive!

argh.

decisions.

  1. Have you talked to your doctor about getting Lasik? I have dry eyes, and so does my dad. Neither one of us are good candidates for the surgery. They pretty much refused to do it for my dad, and I haven't considered the idea since. :( Being a grown up can suck sometimes! I am all for a great vacation!!

  2. I'm all for a vacation, only because I like get aways. Sometimes too much. The grown up me would say to get the deck done, but seriously what fun is that? But you obviously can't listen to me, I'm a bad influence. Eh just go get your hair done. =)

  3. Im always in for traveling...but I could see why youd want to spend the money to fix the patio (luckily I don't have a home to repair...thats a nice way to say I still live at home with my parents haha!) But...I had Lasik a few years ago and I am SO happy I did it! It is life changing! What if you did just a weekend trip somewhere AND got the Lasik? Also, sorry I didnt respond to your last comment I meant to! lol we do need to do the guest post thing...and I agree that Id need to come up with something fun to write about too! haha! Let me know if youve thought of anything!

  5. I hate it when my contacts flop out of my eye. And I don't carry solution or glasses with me, so it hurts like hell trying to get it back in. I'm with Sylvia on a compromised combo. Like, go for an eye exam to possibly figure out new contacts or get new glasses (insurance covers that right?) and go on a smaller vacation. Or deck and weekend getaway. Obviously, i'm all for a vacation too! Good luck!!
